Just a random free-write

Dan wasn't worried about what the others thought.  He knew it was a dumb idea.  He didn't try to make them upset but they just had to see how bad it was going to go.  Anyone could tell that once the crate left the ground it was game over for the pieces inside.   Not only would their time sorting the pieces into the correct order was wasted, but at least 15 of the pieces were broken or chipped.

Dan walked out.  He wasn't spending another minute fixing this bad idea.  Sam looked at the other three, hesitating before he asked.  "Will you help me put it together?"  With Dan out Sam knew someone had to get the project done.  It really was a stupid mistake.  They spend hours meticulously sorting tiles but when it comes time to load things up to take them to the gym they try to save a few extra minutes by lifting the whole board up in one go.   At least it didn't all break.

Beth bent down to help sam start sorting the broken pieces into severity of damage.

"Dan really did come up with a great overall design for our board" Beth said in apology.

"He did, but like always he's throwing another fit once the slightest thing goes wrong" grumbled Ernesto.

"He isn't that bad" retorted Beth.

"Just help me finish sorting these, then I will take them down to the lab and touch up the flaws." Sam said patiently.

Justine alone was silent as she helped clean.  Dan only knew what to suggest because Justine had lead him to realize that making the tiles out of ceramics would be faster and more accurate.  She realized it would be more brittle, and figured Dan would have seen that obviously too.   That's why it was so frustrating for her when Dan went along with Ernesto's idea of moving the whole board at once.

They all knew that if they nailed this one presentation they would be set for at least another 3 months.  School had become a constant bungy
